We spend 1 - 2 hours a week in this type of church service but spend from 40 - 60 hours a week at work. How can God through Jesus Christ ask for our whole life submitted to Him be satisfied with 2 hours of worship? Yet we need to work and can't spend 24 hours a day worshipping in song services. How would God see us worship? What's His prospective on worship?
Well, Colossians 3:23 says:'Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men'.
The word "do" means to work, labour, do work. When we work we are to do it with all our heart as worship unto the Lord. The word for work in Hebrew, avodah, is the same used for prayer. Avodah connotes service. Work is not only a necessary part of life; it is a form of service to the world, to the rest of humanity, and to God. We are meant to be of service, to be partners with God in the ongoing creation of the world.
Let us celebrate the Lord through our work!
