Psalm 14:2&3 say, “The Lord looks down from heaven on all mankind to see if there are any who understand, any who seek God, all have turned away, all have become corrupt, there is no one who does good. The scriptures say over and over again in different ways that the heart of man is wicked and corrupt. We have all sinned and fallen short of the expectation of our righteous creator. Sin is in the very nature of mankind.
This is the very reason that we need a savior and someone to rescue us. The last verse in this psalm says, “Oh that salvation would come out of Zion”. Praise God! Jesus came to take away the sin of the world and redeem us from our destiny of destruction. Jesus took all our sin, sickness and shame on the cross and gave us His righteousness, His holiness, His wholeness in its stead.
Now all that remains is for us to accept that we need a savior and accept Jesus into our lives. When we do we become a brand new creature. We are born of an incorruptible seed and a child of the most high God. We have a new nature that is being transformed into the image of Christ. Because we are born again, we are the righteousness of Christ and our desire is now to do good.
The Lord will create in you a pure heart that will desire to seek his face.
Prayer: "Father, thank you for your love for us. Thank you for sending your son who took all our sin, sickness and shame and gave us new life. I rejoice in your salvation. Amen."
