Psalm 19:14 May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight oh Lord my Rock and my Redeemer.
Words are powerful and full of life or death. When we speak, our words have the same ability to create and bring forth growth, change and reproduction. In the beginning God spoke and the world was created. In Ezekiel 37 God told Ezekiel to speak to the dry bones and call forth life. You have that same power working in you if the Spirit of God dwells within. On the other hand Jesus cursed the fig tree because it was not producing and the tree withered! The word ‘cursed’ means to endue with power to fail. When we speak we either bless or curse. Your words are either positive and can give encouragement or negative and can be discouraging.
But before the words come out of our mouth, they are formulated in our heart according to Matthew 12:34. This is why David asks that his words and that which he is thinking be acceptable in the sight of The Lord!
Let that be your prayer.
Prayer: "Father may the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight, oh Lord. Fill my heart and my mouth with words that would be full of life and blessing in Jesus name. Amen."
