Pray before you read: “Open your word to me. Breathe the breath of the Spirit upon it and release life changing revelation, Lord.”
Psalm 2:8 “Ask of me, and I will make the nations your inheritance, the ends of the earth your possession”
Psalm 2:8 says, ask me. This is such a profound truth. You have not because you ask not. But ask and it will be given, pressed down, shaken together and running over will He give to you, even more than you can think or even imagine. When we ask for something we are requesting to obtain an item or information. It means we don't have "it" in our possession but we want "it".
In this psalm The Lord is saying ask me for the nations. Notice the plural, nations. The earth is The Lord’s and the fullness there of. The nations are his to give. He didn't say only ask me for the USA or Great Britain or Canada. He loves all the nations. That includes Iraq, Iran, and Somalia ...all the nations of the earth. We are told that every tribe and every tongue will worship God. They are our inheritance and the ends of the earth our possession!
To possess is the state of having, owning, or controlling something. In the Lord's Prayer we are told to proclaim "your kingdom come on earth as it is in heaven". To possess the ends of the earth we need to bring His kingdom to the earth in the spirit. We do that by beginning to pray for the nations. As you begin to take hold of your possession you will have an influence upon it.
Ask The Lord for the nations. He will lay specific nations on your heart and as you pray His heart for that nation you will see your heart expand. God So Loves the earth that he gave his son for us all!
Prayer: “Father, I ask you to give me your perspective on the nations. That I would see them in the redemptive way you see them. Show me how to pray to possess nations for your sake in Jesus mighty name. Amen!”
