Psalm 21:8 Surely you have granted him unending blessings and made him glad with the joy of your presence.
Surely is an interesting word. It means confident and without a doubt. David is showing complete assurance that The Lord will bless him forever. Unending means eternal. The blessing of The Lord doesn't end with death but ushers us into His presence. To be absent from the body is to be present with The Lord.
But we don't need to die to have access into the presence of The Lord.
According to Hebrews 4:16 we have confidence to approach the throne of grace at any time with confidence knowing that we will be received and we will find mercy and grace. So often the image of God is seen as a strict and stern Father that is usually mad about something. When we see our Heavenly Father in this way we don't want to run into his presence.
God is good and he sees you as perfect and complete lacking nothing. We don't come into His presence on our own merit but by the blood of Jesus that was shed for our sin and transgression. What a relief the mercy and grace of God is to us! No more performing to please Him but by faith accepting all he has done. No wonder that in this place we have joy and that, forevermore!
Prayer: "Father I thank you for the confidence to come to you at any moment. I ask you to fill my heart with the joy and pour out your abundant blessings upon my life, in Jesus name. Amen "
